Providenciales (Provo) is the main island and the one with Grace Bay, a long stretch of pale sand and calm water. It is simple to reach from the US East Coast, English-speaking, and light on 'island chaos.' It is also imported-everything expensive, and culture is quieter than Jamaica or Barbados.
Hurricane season June–November. Direct hits happen; travel insurance is not optional in autumn.

- Food and taxis are painfully expensive
- Provo can feel like a resort strip with a beach attached
- Other islands (North Caicos, Grand Turk) need extra planning
- Little rain forest or volcanic drama — this is a sand-and-sea trip
Airports
Transit on the ground (and water)

No meters; government-ish rates, still pricey. Hotels can call one.
Grace Bay is spread out. A car-free stay works if you pick a hotel you are happy to eat at.
Rental car
Worth it if you want Grace Bay plus Chalk Sound, the south beaches, or grocery runs.
Left-hand driving. Parking is easy compared with most islands. Book ahead in Christmas week.
Ferry
North and Middle Caicos via the TCI Ferry from Walkin Marina.
A day trip that changes the trip from 'beach only' to 'out islands.' Check the timetable; it is not hourly.
